The RPC utilizes and promotes state-of-the-art, research-based prevention processes, programs, policies, and practices through the Federally and State approved Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF)
and the Communities That Care (CTC) model in an effort to effectively impact the following state outcomes: reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) use; delay age of first use; and decrease favorable attitudes toward youth Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) use.
The Regional Prevention Center works collaboratively within the communities of Wichita and

Regional Prevention Center staff are trained and certified in a variety of research-based programs and topics. Trainings and educational presentations are offered throughout the year and can be requested for groups by contacting the RPC.
The Regional Prevention Center provides technical assistance, training, and consultation to enhance core competencies, build capacity and utilize the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) core strategies, which are: Dissemination of Information, Prevention Education, Alternative Activities, Community-Based Processes, Environmental Approaches and Problem Identification and Referral.
