Intermediate Substance Abuse Treatment

Mirror, Inc. Logo

The intermediate program is designed to be an introduction to a structured recovery environment to break the cycle of addiction based on the client’s history, intensity of need, and current environment of use. Clients are placed in this level based on their degree of awareness of their addiction and the level of stability the client experiences as a result of their addiction. This is the most intensive level of care in the community for substance abusers.

The approach to treatment in this modality is to provide clients with specific education about the disease process of addiction. Clients will be taught how addiction is a disease of the brain and has many physiological, as well as psychological consequences. Relapse prevention is addressed and clients’ responses to high-risk situations are planned.

Intermediate counselors are certified through the State of Kansas. Each intermediate counselor maintains a caseload of no more than 8 clients at a time to ensure the highest level of individualized care.
